Epic travel plans begin!

Part of the reason I started a blog is because I want to be in the habit of blogging by the time I go overseas next year...then while I am away I can put up blog posts for friends & family to read should they wish.

Basically next year my boyfriend and I are going overseas for up to a year. We begin in Vancouver where one of our best mates currently lives, then together we embark on a 60-90 day road trip across U.S.. Our loose itinerary is from left to right gouge we do a couple of loops and head down south too along the way. From there it's to the other side of Canada to Quebec. After this its either hang in Canada for longer, head to UK or South America. This remains undecided...

As of about 3 hours ago I finished uni for the year and now I am going to be able to properly plan my trip!!! YAY :) So for the next 5 moths I will be intense work, save and research mode.

Wish me luck! xox

So why are skull jars a thing?

Yesterday I bought a skull jar and I am so excited. It was only $4 from a two dollar shop at Westfield Doncaster...But somehow I am super pumped about having this pink skull head... To give you the full picture I actually noticed it in the shop 6 weeks or so ago and chose not to buy it as my more sensible and thrifty self said, why? Then I found myself still thinking about it a few days later so I made a mental agreement - If I still remembered and actually wanted it next time I went to Doncaster then I would grab it. SO there I was, last night, still wanting and loving the idea of my pink skull jar. Imagining endless possibilities of how it could enrich and beautify my life...  Now it's mine. Proudly sitting on my dressing table. L O V E

I do ponder...why does it even appeal to me to buy this? Sure I love pink things, but a skull? Why a skull? It's not like I am into death or anything...and I am not a pirate. In fact I am kind of anti-death...And so is the average consumer (as far as I know) and yet skulls are everywhere so they must be a thing!

I wanted to get Crystal Head Vodka for ages because I thought it was a unique bottle that you could reuse if you were so keen as to decant more spirits in there once it's emptied. But for $89 a bottle I was never keen enough to actually buy it...Plus I have heard the actual vodka isn't that good, which would be disappointing. So overall it makes me very happy with my $4 purchase given that I get the same skull-ness out of my cheapie PLUS it is pink! #holymacaroni!

Another potential skull item is one of those beautiful candles, but let's face it, I could never burn it! It would be destroyed within minutes and just look like a big glob of wax...right? Or maybe it would just gradually bore a hole into old skelly's head. Either way, I prefer the longevity I can expect from my humble $4 jar. If you are interested in this gorgeous candle though, check it out HERE!

Apparently they are selling skull storage jars from Cotton On, like the ones in this pic:

I have to admit that's pretty cool. I might check it out as I have a lot of makeup brushes anyway and I like the big cavity space available for lots of brushes. At the moment I have mine in a tall glass, but they don't all fit by any means, so I end up leaving them around my makeup storage, my dressing table, my bathroom etc etc etc. (OH the woes of being a female)

Before I stop going about skulls...I friggen LOVE this clutch by Bea Valdes which I stumbled upon at The Fashion Schizo... <3

Well that concludes today's obsession....Peace out girl scout! XOXO

The cutest M A C Lipstick EVERRRR!!... at the moment :)

So, as you can see, I've decided to do some blogging! Mainly because it will be a bit of a creative outlet for me in a way and also because I have so many beauty products and I am always thinking I should do reviews since I have tried out a lot of things.

In this post I want to share my favourite MAC lipstick at the moment (let's be clear it is not my favourite of all time because that would be a big call, and one I am not yet prepared to make!) And here it is:

This colour is Pink Nouveau and I am so in love with this colour! It is the perfect pink lipstick. It's pastel but the colour still pops. It is feminine and pretty but it still gives you a bold looking shade for a statement lip. It's subtle enough for a work look (I have to go for a more natural look at work) but bright enough to make your whole make up look have a nice something-something. YAY! I can see this being a regular go-to lip colour for me this Spring/Summer.

I don't feel like I really need to go into much detail about WHY this brand is great. They are renowned for amazing quality makeup and their lipstick is one of their hottest items going around.
The reason I personally love their lipstick is because it is so creamy and smooth, yet so full bodied. The colour is super opaque and it is long wearing, despite the creamy finish. It doesn't dry my lips out either. But anyway, I love the way it looks!

They are $36 per lipstick and should last you super foreverrrr. Now I love a good bargain and to me $36 isn't totally cheap, but in this circumstance you get what you pay for. The quality justifies the price in my opinion - particularly in that it is so true to the colour. So the colour you see in the actual lipstick itself truly matches what shows up on your lips.
Anyway, if you want to rush out and get it (or any M A C lipstick for that matter) you can head to DJs or Myer counters. Otherwise you can buy online here.

Go get your pout on! XOXOX
