So why are skull jars a thing?

Yesterday I bought a skull jar and I am so excited. It was only $4 from a two dollar shop at Westfield Doncaster...But somehow I am super pumped about having this pink skull head... To give you the full picture I actually noticed it in the shop 6 weeks or so ago and chose not to buy it as my more sensible and thrifty self said, why? Then I found myself still thinking about it a few days later so I made a mental agreement - If I still remembered and actually wanted it next time I went to Doncaster then I would grab it. SO there I was, last night, still wanting and loving the idea of my pink skull jar. Imagining endless possibilities of how it could enrich and beautify my life...  Now it's mine. Proudly sitting on my dressing table. L O V E

I do ponder...why does it even appeal to me to buy this? Sure I love pink things, but a skull? Why a skull? It's not like I am into death or anything...and I am not a pirate. In fact I am kind of anti-death...And so is the average consumer (as far as I know) and yet skulls are everywhere so they must be a thing!

I wanted to get Crystal Head Vodka for ages because I thought it was a unique bottle that you could reuse if you were so keen as to decant more spirits in there once it's emptied. But for $89 a bottle I was never keen enough to actually buy it...Plus I have heard the actual vodka isn't that good, which would be disappointing. So overall it makes me very happy with my $4 purchase given that I get the same skull-ness out of my cheapie PLUS it is pink! #holymacaroni!

Another potential skull item is one of those beautiful candles, but let's face it, I could never burn it! It would be destroyed within minutes and just look like a big glob of wax...right? Or maybe it would just gradually bore a hole into old skelly's head. Either way, I prefer the longevity I can expect from my humble $4 jar. If you are interested in this gorgeous candle though, check it out HERE!

Apparently they are selling skull storage jars from Cotton On, like the ones in this pic:

I have to admit that's pretty cool. I might check it out as I have a lot of makeup brushes anyway and I like the big cavity space available for lots of brushes. At the moment I have mine in a tall glass, but they don't all fit by any means, so I end up leaving them around my makeup storage, my dressing table, my bathroom etc etc etc. (OH the woes of being a female)

Before I stop going about skulls...I friggen LOVE this clutch by Bea Valdes which I stumbled upon at The Fashion Schizo... <3

Well that concludes today's obsession....Peace out girl scout! XOXO
